Tamamo-no-Mae

The “Lady of shining jewels” is a legendary figure in Japanese mythology. In the l’Otogi-zōshi, a collection of tales dating from the Muromachi period, Tamamo-no-Mae was the favourite of the emperor’s father Konoe. Pretty and smart, she charmed all with her presence.
