Low table Ivory

Art deco low table “Ivory”, American glass on walnut plywood. Owing to their extreme rarity, Asian white elephants are thought of as invaluable treasure. In buddhism, the Buddha’s mother (Siddhartha Gautama) is said to have dreamt during pregnancy of a white elephant offering her a lotus flower, the symbol of purity.
