Poseidon on his chariot

Reproduction of an antique mosaic at the museum of Sousse. Poseidon, as Greek god of the seas and rivers, could unleash or calm storms. His Roman counterpart, Neptune, carried a trident representing the three essentials characteristics of nature: becoming, being, ending.
